Pets have different nutritional requirements that change throughout their life, from before birth until their final days. This course will provide an overview of the various stages and related nutritional needs of each stage, as well as recommendations to consider when providing pet owners with your nutritional recommendations for the dogs and cats that visit your practice.
You will need a general understanding of the life stages of companion animals. Give yourself plenty of time to complete the course without rushing, and try to find space to undertake the course in a quiet area, free of distractions. This course will take approximately two and a half hours.
The objectives of this course are to help you describe why it is essential to feed pets with food suited to their age and life stage. It will also help you explain to pet parents why and how their healthy cats and dogs will benefit from eating food designed to provide optimal nutrition for their current life stage.
